  • Book Plan — $950

    A blueprint for your book to guide your manuscript development and writing. Also can serve as the foundation of a proposal if seeking an agent or publisher. Includes 3 hours of Zoom consultation and a detailed written plan, typically 10-15 pages, covering your book’s vision, objectives, unique market positioning, suggested chapter structure, and annotated table of contents.

  • Developmental Editing — fee varies, see below

    A deep-dive into the big-picture elements of your manuscript—structure, pacing, thematic consistency, and narrative arc (yes, even for non-fiction). I identify strengths and gaps and offer candid feedback and targeted suggestions to deepen tone, sharpen focus, and strengthen reader engagement. Can be provided for batches of chapters or complete manuscript draft. Fee varies depending on complexity and starting point “condition” of the manuscript elements, but typically is priced at 4 to 6 cents per word or a flat fee from several hundred to several thousand dollars.

  • Ghostwriting — fee varies, see below

    Ghostwriting brings your ideas to life through a clear, authentic voice tailored to your goals and audience. I collaborate with you via regular, recorded Zoom consultations to gather insights, background material and personal anecdotes, then transform your words, tone, and intent into an engaging manuscript. Typically $10,000+ depending on book length, complexity of subject matter, and your starting point (blank slate or fully formed ideas and some content).

  • Manuscript Assessment — 1.5 cents per word

    A careful, high‑level reading of your solid draft manuscript to assess overall strengths, challenges, and market potential. I review your work holistically, focusing on narrative clarity, structural coherence, and reader appeal, then deliver concise, actionable feedback in a one‑ to two‑page report summarizing observations and recommendations. Includes a 30-minute Zoom to clarify feedback and answer questions. Note that fee above is one-point-five cents per word, not fifteen!

  • The "I don't know what I need!" Option

    Let’s start with a 20-minute consultation at no charge (see “Initial Consultation” description). From there, we’ll figure out which of the service options best fits your need, or if you need something more customized than the standard offerings, we’ll work that out.

  • Initial Consultation — no charge

    We’ll talk for up to 20 minutes by phone or Zoom so you can tell me more about your project and what you think you need help with. I can answer questions about how we can work together and what it would cost. Before the consultation, I like to read something about your project, if you have anything. This can be a sample excerpt of your manuscript draft, a book overview, or notes about your idea or work in progress. I will read up to about 4 pages or about 1,000 words. Anything beyond that incurs a reading fee of one cent per word.
